Leon Panetta and Ken Duberstein spoke about the presidential transition process, challenges posed by formulating a new cabinet, and the role of the White House chief of staff in a new presidential administration. They also commented on specific challenges faced by a new Obama administration.
Stephen Hess and Terry Edmonds talked about the presidential transition process, focusing on ways in which the new Obama administration will have to respond to public expectations and develop policy which reflects the promises of the campaign. Among the topics they addressed were challenges specific to the global economy, foreign policy in Iraq and Afghanistan, and relations with Congress.
